Skull and Teeth
The skull and jaw are long but not as attenuated as a bandicoot and
the skull is broad behind. Well developed, stout incisors and upper canines
(lower canines
absent). There is a gap in the upper jaw between the canine and premolars.The
first premolars have a serrated crest.
Teeth formula: I 3/1; C 1/0; PM 2/2; M 4/4.
Body Shape and Size
Dumpy, pale brown animals about 30 to nearly 40 centimetres with short
fore legs, long hind legs and a long bushy , black tipped tail.
